Role description:

This role involves managing the daily operations of The Museum Café and delivering outstanding guest experiences. It is a 100% hands-on position, ‘doing the do’ sometimes by yourself, but also overseeing a small casual/part-time team responsible for opening, closing, and front-of-house activities, including food presentation, order taking, food and beverage service, coffee making, food rotation, and waste management. Additionally, the café supervisor handles café cleaning, inventory replenishment, restocking, and urgently resolving repairs and maintenance issues.

To be considered for this position, you will:

• Have experience in leading a team in a fast paced cafe and being a jack of all trades: barista (must be able make a great coffee), order taker, server, bussy, cleaner, quality controller, food preparer etc
• Be super passionate about customer care and service – with unwavering patience and a cool head during very busy times
• Be capable of working collaboratively with the kitchen team to showcase the highest quality of food and beverage offer

Role description:

The role is responsible for ensuring that every single visitor has a truly exceptional and memorable experience at MoPA. This is demonstrated through your endless energy and enthusiasm for children, families and play. You love to dance, paint, build, tell stories as well as hosting parties and excursions whilst maintaining an eye for detail on the cleanliness of the museum.

• You’ll be rostered for 2-4 shifts per week of between 3 and 8 hours each

• Most shifts occur on weekends, however some shifts will also occur on weekdays

• Most shifts will be during the Museum’s typical operating hours (approx. 8.30am til 5.30pm) however some shifts will end later (9.30pm, at the latest) when events/functions occur in the Museum.

• You’ll be on your feet all day – because there’s always something that can be cleaned. But rest assured, all day you’ll also be laughing, dancing and having loads of fun with our team and our guests!

• You’ll be running a host of scheduled activities such as dance parties, craft, games and classes

• Fastidious and constant cleaning and tidying of all areas, exhibits and facilities

To be considered for this position, you will:

• Ideally have worked with children in an educational capacity – many of our team are future, current or past formal educators.
• Be comfortable hosting parties, excursions, dance parties, painting sessions, craft building with individuals and groups
• Be confident in enforcing safety guidelines for our guests (outside food policy and play safe areas)
• Love cleaning, tidying, restocking, wiping, cleaning, emptying bins, dusting, and did I mention cleaning!

Role description:

This role supports the head chef in preparing the very best food offer to MoPA standards. From cutting, chopping, assembling and presenting our cafe and catering range, you will take pride in every piece you put on display.

To be considered for this position, you must

• Have worked in a busy cafe style kitchen with exceptionally high standards and revel in a fast paced environment
• Have the ability to take direction but also work autonomously to cook, prepare, assemble the range of  snacks, sandwiches, food platters, etc
• Be comfortable engaging with cafe team members who you co-share the cafe/kitchen space with

Role description:

Our delightful crew of Cafe Team Members are responsible for ensuring that our cafe is the cleanest, yummiest haven for nutrients that our guests could ever ask for. Each day they’re the first team members in – prepping the for the day ahead. They then busily tend to guests orders for our delicious food and coffee menu, maintaining an impeccable environment within the serving area but also in the cafe eating areas, and scrub the place impeccably clean at the end of the day to ensure tomorrows team get a head start into another busy day.

You will be comfortable engaging with children and parents alike, you will demonstrate a genuinely kind and caring nature by helping anyone and everyone with whatever their needs may be, and you will be a ‘service machine’, endlessly re-strocking, tidying, wiping, vacuuming, emptying bins and doing all it takes to maintain the exceptionally high standard of cleanliness and hygiene that MoPA are famous for.
